Conducts manufacturing engineering assignments related to tooling in conformity with sound engineering principles, policies, and controls to develop new methods, processes, and product designs to resolve quality and cost issues in manufacturing.
Design, implement, test, and debug, tooling solutions in manufacturing including weld, machining, lifting, assembly and other types of fixtures.
Assists with new product introduction activities within assigned area including tooling and component manufacturing process development.
Makes suggestions to design engineers to improve the manufacturability of proposed and current designs.
Research and development of new and existing processes and manufacturing systems to improve quality, productivity, and reduce operating costs.
Provides technical assistance, training, and information to various individuals involved in tooling and production processes.
Communicate effectively with personnel, as the job requires, in a professional manner that facilitates teamwork.
Responsible for all aspects of project management on assigned projects including but not limited to the following: schedule development and adherence, and budget compliance.
Keep abreast of new development pertinent to one's job responsibilities through contacts with professional societies, educational centers, tool and machine manufacturers, technical papers, journals, periodicals and other sources.
Prepares cost estimates of purchased and manufactured components/materials ensuring completeness, accuracy, and conformance with required delivery schedules.
Experience in Mechanical Design and Drafting principles using GD&T.
Experience with quality systems, and component manufacturing processes including bending, machining and welding.
Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Creo Elements / Pro E, Poly Works, and Microsoft Office Software.
Experience in applying lean principles to provide easy to use, ergonomic and safe tooling solutions.
Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
Strong understanding of tooling and tool room practices.
Team player who can work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to provide leadership for change and improvement.
Excellent analytical/problem solving skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
